To start-up an E&I team in our office in Newcastle, we are currently looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with a passion for industrial engineering and design.

Projects from A-Z, this is how we do it!

At Contec we realize projects from A to Z. As an Associate Electrical Engineer you will be involved in our current projects. You are responsible for the following matters, among others:

  • Designing of schematics, cabinet layouts and component selection in accordance with customer specifications and legal requirements;
  • Supervision of projects according to the agreed scope and planning;
  • Assistance during factory acceptance tests (FAT), field testing, commissioning & start-ups;
  • Compiling the required documentation needed to meet project milestones;
  • Liaising with the project team and clients to complete the project as required.

You always do all this in close collaboration with your project coordinator and your team.

Passion for automation? It’s you we’re looking for!

  • A Bachelors' or Masters' degree in Electrical Engineering with two or three years’ experience in industrial E&I engineering;
  • In possession of a driving license & located nearby Newcastle;
  • Can work both autonomously and as part of a team;
  • Proactive and logical approach to problem-solving;
  • Have an adventurous spirit; you enjoy learning new things and love exploring the world together. For your colleagues, travelling is a fun and educational experience, so we hope you'll get excited about it too. Your onboarding period will take place in our HQ in Belgium;
  • Knowledge of the following is beneficial:
    • Cable calculations
    • Selection of electrical components
    • Knowledge of legal standards and guidelines such as AREI, EN60204.1, etc.
    • Eplan P8
    • Instrumentation & measurement and control technology
    • General business automation
    • MS Office, preferably including MS Access
