Listen and understand the needs, plans and expectations of your clients and ensure that the right structures and appropriate talent are in place to meet short- and long-term departmental needs in a cost-effective manner. Play an active 'liaison' role between the business and HR teams.

What are your duties as HR Business Partner? 

  • Processes: drive workforce planning and, in collaboration with Talent Acquisition and Learning &. Development to meet staffing and capacity needs.
  • Analysing: organisational structures, span-of-control, depth of organisation, .... analyse and advise on the further optimisation of these structures to ensure Lineas has an effective and cost-efficient organisation.
  • Budgeting: ensuring that we are as cost-efficient as possible in terms of staffing and external resources
  • Recruitment: participating in the recruitment processes for leadership positions and critical positions to ensure that we attract talent for our current and future needs
  • Learning & Development: As part of the Talent Strategy, you will work closely with managers for talent and performance management within their departments to ensure a strong talent pool for critical positions, create and implement action plans.
  • Leadership: Look for solutions to complex situations together with your internal client, supporting them in the search for improvement opportunities to ensure a healthy social climate in the department. You manage the organisation and safeguard the culture in transformation programmes (incl. restructuring, investments, acquisitions, business alliances, etc.)
  • Coaching: Develop and maintain healthy and trusted relationships with your people leaders, coaching them in their people management role and helping them understand and apply the HR processes (C&B, Talent, Recruitment, ....)

As HR Business Partner, you will maintain an environment within the assigned business units that attracts, retains, develops and motivates top-quality staff.

What is your profile?  

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Psychology or Business Administration with 8+ years of experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Dutch. Good communication in French.
  • Driving license B, you will mainly work at our locations in Antwerp Port and Ghent Seaport.
  • Strong strategic and conceptual thinking; solid business acumen
  • A consultative leadership style that builds high-performing teams in multidisciplinary projects that consistently achieve targets and realise organisational benefits
  • A strong communicator with excellent influencing skills.
  • Proactive, stress-resistant, pragmatic, results-oriented, flexible and a leader in change
  • Pragmatic, hands-on, structured and able to manage (change) projects
  • Good people and coaching skills
  • Experience in HR management positions, ideally in an international environment
  • Knowledge of modern people and organisational development
  • Knowledge of social legislation
  • MS Office proficiency
