As we embark on our journey towards greater sustainability, we are seeking a passionate and analytical individual to join us as a Sustainability Controller.

As a Sustainability Controller at Duvel Moortgat, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our sustainability initiatives in line with our SBTi commitment and ensuring compliance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). You will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting sustainability data to drive informed decision-making and enhance our environmental and social impact. 

Our taste profile:

  • You gather and organize data related to sustainability indicators, including energy consumption, water usage, waste, and carbon emissions and ensure robust and correct reporting and tracking
  • You improve reporting through power-BI, in close collaboration with controlling colleagues, and you work with IT on potentially other tools in the future to drive automatic data collection and reporting
  • Based on analyses, you confirm that the right conclusions, links and correlations are drawn, making projects successful
  • You interpret data trends, measure progress towards sustainability goals and provide expertise, data and guidance in the various sustainability projects
  • You support the business by providing objective, scientifically correct insights on the performance of the key indicators, and offer support during audits on sustainability related data
  • You prepare comprehensive sustainability reports in accordance with CSRD guidelines and other regulatory requirements and stay abreast of evolving regulatory frameworks
  • You contribute in building the roadmaps towards our science based targets and you will play a pivotal role in getting our SBT’s validated
  • You develop clear and concise documentation to communicate key findings, performance metrics, and initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • You handle the set-up, data analyses and reporting that support the process of customer/supplier questionnaires
  • You report into the Sustainability Director as well as the Finance Director, who will guide your work and ensure efficiency of data collection and reporting processes
  • You collaborate closely with colleagues in other departments (IT, HR/ Communication, etc.) as well as in our different production sites and commercial offices

For this role we are looking for a person who is passionate about sustainability, and equally passionate about data (collection, analysis, reporting and storing).You are a team player who can build relationships in a complex environment and you have strong communication skills. You will work in a role with a global scope as a member of the head-office team in the headquarters in Puurs-Sint-Amands and you will have dual reporting lines in a matrix structure.

Your ingredients:

  • Affinity with handling data, developing reporting through preferably power BI or other environments
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and extract actionable insights
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Tableau, SAS, R)
  • Minimum Master degree in a relevant field (Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Analytics, or related field)
  • Preferable proven experience in sustainability analysis, data management, and reporting, (within the food and beverage industry) and familiarity with regulatory frameworks and reporting standards (CDP, GRI, CSRD, SBTi, etc.)
  • Fluent writing and speaking, at least in English yet ideally trilingual (Dutch, French and English)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy, integrity, and compliance
  • Passion for sustainability and a genuine desire to drive positive change within the organization and the broader community
