Team Leader Import & Customs
Job description
As our Team Leader Import & Customs, you are responsible for running the Customs department daily and you report directly to the DC Manager. You will lead the four-headed customs team and ensure the administrative handling of customs activities. You participate in the team, guide, and develop your team members and ensure that the processes within the department are continuously improved.
Furthermore, you are the first contact person for clients whose customs clearance takes place.
Tasks and responsibility involved are:
- Ensuring compliance with customs and foreign trade regulations and supporting foreign trade and customs audits.
- Coordinating customs clearance processes and providing internal advice within the internal Fresh Solutions structure on customs and foreign trade law issues.
- Responsible for the management as well as the development of team members.
- Contact person for customs authorities and internal departments.
- Processing and monitoring customs authorizations such as AEO, bonded warehouse, local clearance procedure, etcetera.
- Monitoring of internal department KPIs as well as continuous optimization of existing work and organizational processes and implementation of new processes.
- Take part in and contribute to relevant projects within the Greenyard Group.
- Legally compliant support with customs issues and customs audits.
- Support in daily tasks, such as coordination of incoming containers.
Who are we looking for?
You are communicatively strong, stress-resistant and someone who keeps an overview. You like working in a dynamic and fast-changing environment. You have a positive attitude, are cooperative and feel comfortable with open and direct communication. Moreover, you have a natural authority and know how to inspire and motivate employees.
In addition to the above activities, we require the following knowledge and skills from our new colleague:
- Several years of experience in the field of customs and foreign trade.
- Experience in managing employees.
- Analytical and solution-oriented way of working.
- Confident handling of ERP systems and common MS Office applications (primarily MS Word / Excel and Infor M3).
- In possession of the diploma Senior Customs Consultant and/or full declarant.
- Strong command of the Dutch and English language. German is an advantage.
- The ability to provide leadership to the other employees in the Customs department.
- Very structured personality, able to work independently and think for the company as a whole
