The purpose of the function

As an ambassador for Brussels Airlines, he or she is the focal point for major technical projects (principally C-Checks), performed by third party maintenance organizations on the Brussels Airlines short, medium and long haul fleet, most of the time abroad. He acts as the locally present Ground Time Manager of the project, alone on small projects, assisted by Technical Support Engineer(s) on large projects.

Key result areas

  • Take responsibility for the organization, training and preparation of the technical intervention by third party maintenance partners to ensure compliance with, on the one hand the planning (TAT) and on the other hand the quality of the work.
  • Solve operational issues and discuss issues with third party to ensure that the continuity of the high quality maintenance can be guaranteed.
  • Deliver input regarding how to improve third party’s service to ensure to contribute towards the continuous improvement of quality and performance. Ensure that a well-documented and complete file (including scorecard) is delivered at the end of the mission.
  • Steer Third Party Maintenance provider to ensure that their performance is maximized. Monitor their AMOS input, scanning and reporting during the project and re-direct/train the MRO when required.
  • Take responsibility to ensure that smooth communication and collaboration with third parties are in place and deliver a regular, consistent and structured reporting towards other departments and management.
  • Improve and maintain his or her expert knowledge and technical skills within the scope of the maintenance procedures, aircraft follow-up system (AMOS) and installations, in order to maximize one’s expert knowledge and apply this optimally on the field.
  • Improve and maintain outsourced base maintenance procedures, instructions & processes up-to-date in cooperation with the other colleagues and management.
  • align internally with engineering and logistics and externally with OEM’s and other suppliers on priorities and processes to maximize performance of the MRO.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor (or equivalent by experience) with at least 3 – 5 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of Part-M & Part 145 regulation
  • Have a technical background of aircraft maintenance
  • Be prepared to travel and spend long period abroad.
  • Good communicator
  • Negotiation skills
  • Problem solver
  • Fluency in English. (written & spoken)
  • Good Knowledge of excel and/or AMOS is an asset
