About ENTSO-E 

ENTSO-E is the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity. We coordinate the cross-border system operations, system development and electricity market activities of the 40 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) which cover 36 countries. The ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels provides support on technical, market and policy developments for all European TSOs in their cooperation with each other, in their joint fulfilment of their legal mandates, and in the intensive interactions with EU decision-makers, regulatory agencies, associations representing network users and other stakeholders.

Job description 

We are looking for a highly professional and skilled Information Security (Senior) Specialist, passionate about the European electricity market and the energy transition. The common Grid Model Business process requires a significant data exchange amongst all ENTSO-E members. The IT data exchange system is called the Operational Planning Data Exchange Platform [OPDE] and is fully in scope of the deliveries of the Common Grid Model Programme.  

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid model, allowing for a blend of remote and in-office work to support a good work-life balance. You will work within the OPDE Service Delivery team. You will be managing all security related activities for the software development and service coordination in scope of the OPDE. This role will expand in the future into further business areas beyond OPDE.  

As owner of the OPDE, ENTSO-E is in charge of the software design, development and delivery as well as the overall coordination of the operation of the OPDE services. All parties involved in the data exchanges as well as ENTSO-E as coordinator and software factor are bound to a set of security controls to ensure the overall information security of the data and systems. 

Possible International travels within Europe (e.g., 1-2 days per month) will be required to meet the community. 

Your responsibilities

You will work in the ENTSO Secreteriat in Brussels in the ICT Solutions section. Responsbilities may be subject to change depending on the evolution of the priorities and projects. 

  • Maintain and continuously improve the OPDE specific security policies. 
  • Manage the OPDE related security risks in the context of ENTSO-E’s software development and coordination activities, work with product owners and software development teams on managing identified risks.  
  • Lead, organize and follow-up on non-functional security testing (code scanning, penetration testing, threat modelling) 
  • Support the Test Manager to define functional Security test cases. 
  • Organise and perform security trainings for the teams. 
  • Organise and lead the yearly security auditing campaign, organize follow-up as part of risk management process.  
  • Support the OPDE architecture design activities with security related knowledge. 
  • Act as single point of contact for the external Security Centre for OPDE  
  • Advise and coordinate the external activities of the Security Centre in charge of the overall parties’ compliance and risks management. 
  • Represent OPDE in security related forums on association level. 
  • Support activities of ENTSO-E’s digital section beyond OPDE to increase organizational maturity in terms of information security. 

Your profile 

We are looking for someone with the following skills and abilities:

  • At least 7-10 years of experience in IT and Cybersecurity domains. 
  • Preferably graduate or diploma in IT (information technology)/OT (operational technology) related field. 
  • CISSP certified or equivalent experience. Experience on implementing and monitoring Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). 
  • Attention to detail is indispensable, yet business attitude and results driven. 
  • Supporting the team as a self-organized and independently working member. 
  • Strong Knowledge of the Information Security Standards (ISO27001, ISO27002). 
  • Knowledge of the Information Security technologies (Crypto, Network Security, Intrusion Detection, Access Control Models, GPOs, Authentication/Identification…). 
  • Excellent project management skills. 
  • Experience in the in the energy industry is preferable. 
  • Familiar with Issue tracking systems as JIRA and Content Management Systems like SharePoint / ShareFile. 
  • Excellent writing, oral communication, and collaboration skills in English. 
  • Ability to quickly familiarize with new products/technologies/concepts. 
  • Committed, able to work against tight deadlines. 
  • An interest in European energy policy and European institutions is necessary.
